A few days away from everyday life is good for everyone. We had a lovely time away this week with friends whose company we immensely enjoy and time for Mark and I to enjoy a fantastic garden as well as long, uninterrupted conversations. I know you’re all shocked that we don’t often find ourselves able to have those, at least not when school is out for the summer.
One of our more serious conversations was about planning for adult living for our children. Although I really don’t want to know the future, there are some things that would be helpful in planning. We’d also like some years of travel before we can travel no more. Hopefully, God has that all figured out and we don’t need to be concerned. Any way you slice it there’s not a thing we can do about it, so back to the routine we go, hoping and dreaming about a nice long trip somewhere exotic in about two years for our combined 60th birthdays and our 40th anniversary. Not ready to give up that dream just yet.
A few days before we left we did a little goat exchange, well actually we exchanged some big boys for a tiny little boy. We sold Sam and Cody to a farmer who needed them to clean up his land. That same day we got an 8 week old pygmy buckling. Our girl decided to name him Otto. We briefly considered breeding him and having some babies, but I think we’ve decided to have him fixed and most likely to get another little one. He is so small and much more fun for the kids and grandies to play with. Welcome Otto we’re happy to have you.
